Bovipast RSP
While management factors are important in respiratory disease control, vaccination plays a critical role. Bovipast RSP helps protect against the most harmful virus, RSV and one of the most common, PI3. It is also the only combined vaccine that can reduce infection, mortality, clinical signs, lung lesions and bacterial invasion of the lung by Mannheimia (Pasteurella) haemolytica. Bovipast RSP can be used in calves from as young as two weeks old and immunity can be achieved by 8 weeks of age. The primary vaccination course consists of two 5ml doses given four weeks apart.
The double adjuvant in Bovipast RSP, combined with inactivated bovine RSV, provides a significant step forward in RSV control – even in the face of MDA (Bovipast RSP is the only RSV vaccine with a licensed claim for use in calves from two weeks of age).
In addition, the patented IRP (iron regulated protein) technology in Bovipast RSP allows the vaccinated animal to mount a defence against Mannheimia haemolytica earlier in the cycle of bacterial attack than either traditional or leucotoxin vaccines. The same IRPs exist in other serotypes, including A6.
