Equine health company, Intervet UK Ltd, manufacturer of the leading ‘flu and ‘flu/tetanus vaccines Equilis Prequenza and Equilis Prequenza Te, has joined forces with BEVA to host an ‘infectious diseases and vaccination’ workshop at this year’s BEVA Congress (12-15 September) in Edinburgh.

With the aim of providing delegates with practical information which can be utilised in day-to-day practice, the informal and interactive sessions will be chaired by Dr Doug Antczak from Cornell University who will also be keynote speaker at the Plenary Lecture.

Featuring internationally-recognised experts including Julia Kydd and Duncan Hannant from Nottingham Vet School, Paul Lunn from Colorado State University and Alasdair King from Intervet, the workshop will consist of a range of interesting topics.  These include: practical immunology - how the immune system works and protective immunity; investigating outbreaks of infectious disease – which samples, which tests and guide to interpretation; immune responses generated by different types of vaccines; future strategies and technologies for vaccination and developing ideas into products – commercial aspects of making new vaccines.

“We’re delighted to support the infectious diseases and vaccination workshop at BEVA Congress which will provide delegates with a wide range of information on both immunology and vaccine technology,” comments Alasdair King, veterinary manager at Intervet UK Ltd.
