Intervet Shows Communication is the Name of the Game
14 April 2007

In a first for the UK veterinary industry, Intervet UK is launching Chameleon, a unique service set to revolutionise client communication and help build customer loyalty.
Replacing the current over-printing method, Chameleon is a web-based solution, which allows a practice to personalise its printing – enabling it to tailor precisely what it wants to communicate to customers. By using the system, each practice can determine exactly how its booster reminder cards and vaccination certificates look – the design, logos, text and even the pictures.
With a potentially declining market (the dog population is decreasing and the cat population static), the importance of increasing business from existing clients, communicating with them on a personal level and consequently keeping them happy cannot be overlooked. This makes a customer relationship management tool such as Chameleon particularly relevant to the veterinary market.
Jac Bergman DVM, Senior Product Manager at Intervet UK Ltd, believes that in addition to being a strong CRM offering, the beauty of Chameleon lies in its flexibility to offer tailored solutions for each practice.
“Chameleon puts the practice firmly in control, enabling it to communicate the messages it feels are important, when it wants to, alongside the booster reminder message. In the past a practice was limited by how it could communicate with customers and there was little flexibility to express the organisation’s individual personality – Chameleon addresses that issue.”
It isn’t just the communication that’s flexible. Because control is firmly in the hands of the practice, personalised printing through Chameleon can be ordered 24/7 at www.vet-booster.co.uk and delivered within 3 working days.
Despite being ahead of any other practice printing offering currently available, Chameleon is already evolving. The second phase (due late 2007) will include a mail merge facility – which will enable files to be uploaded from a practice management system onto www.vet-booster.co.uk where booster reminder cards can be individually printed and mailed directly from the printer. This alone is expected to save a typical practice one day a month; hours can that can be used for other more productive, income generating activities.
Chameleon is a progression from the free booster reminder cards and vaccination certificates currently provided by Intervet to more than 1,300 veterinary surgeries across the UK. It will still be possible to order booster support material as before, for those practices not wishing to manage their own printing online.
