Improve your drinking water vaccination with Vac-SafeTM

Although drinking water vaccination is often preferred as the ideal technique for the vaccination of large numbers of birds, there are many things to consider when ensuring that the method is successful.

Chlorine in drinking water affects the livability of the vaccine; the efficacy of drinking water vaccination is thus reduced.

Vac-Safe, a new product from Intervet, has been developed to improve drinking water vaccination of live poultry vaccines.

Vac-Safe is an easy to dissolve effervescent tablet, it protects the livability of vaccines in drinking water by neutralizing chlorine and keeping the pH close to neutral.

At a concentration of 1 tablet per 100 litres water added to the drinking water, the distribution of the vaccine in the drinking water system is indicated by the blue dye.

Vac-Safe gives a distinct staining of crop and tongue, this allows for easy monitoring of vaccine intake.

Vac-Safe is made from food grade ingredients and does not contain any ingredients of animal origin.

Vac-Safe substitutes the use of skimmed milk (powder) and reduces the risk of bacterial contamination and blockages of the drinking water system.

Vac-Safe dissolves quickly and leaves no residues. It is easy to calculate the number of tablets needed. (1 tablet per 100 litres of drinking water or, 1 tablet / litre of stock solution for Dosatron type dosing devices set for 1%).
